Honey, I'm home!

We just arrived home from Arisia. Had fun, saw and met lots of interesting people, and came home with... er, nothing. Except a few photographs and a con program. The house is just as we left it - well, okay, slightly whiter as the result of about half an inch of snow - and the pipes haven't frozen, so all seems to be good.

Well, almost all.

The Traditional Values Coalition seems to think that the American Family Association isn't doing a good enough job of forcing non-heterosexuals into roles as second-class citizens. Why do I say this? Because they've set up their own poll.

Actually, the TVC has a number of interesting polls, including surveys on whether to abolish all laws regarding private consensual sex and whether the US government should recognize Canadian "so-called 'same-sex marriages'".

Rock the vote, people.

One of my new projects...

...is weeding the In Nomine website and the In Nomine Collection of stray email addresses. Here's what I mean: I have two email addresses through SJGames - edg@sjgames.com and orc@sjgames.com. The latter is actually an alias for the former, so they both go to the same mailbox. Neither of those addresses is really spam-trapped on any of the literally hundreds of pages on which they appear, so I get lots of spam.

2,000 unsolicited commercial emails a week. On a good week.

I'm sure you can imagine how wading through that for the maybe two legitimate emails a month I receive through those addresses - not counting list admin stuff - is a pain. Therefore, I think it's time to start spam-trapping the websites in question.

I'm not entirely sure how to do it - turn all the email addresses into links to a feedback form? Add despamming text to the address (e.g. "edg@michaelsjgames.com", with a note to remove the Archangel before emailing? - so this is going to be a point of enquiry for the next few days. Any advice is devoutly appreciated.
