Calming effect

I bought a Belldandy figurine yesterday at the comic shop. (They had all three Norns, and I wanted all three, but I couldn't justify spending $50 on figurines when I'd just spent $50 on comics.) It's apparently a figurine based on the movie (cue rant below), which means that Bell has wings; with them, she measures 5.5" from toes to wingtips. (The pedestal adds 2" to her height.) Today I brought her into the office; she doesn't have to do anything except sit on her pedestal and look beautiful. She acts as a calming influence.
I'm very happy to have her here.
Mini-Rant: The creator of the manga Aa! Megami-sama has repeatedly stated in interviews that he got the idea for the title from the English exclamation "Oh my God!", and thought it would be cute to name his manga "Oh My Goddess!". So why the fuck do fans and importers keep mistranslating the God damned title? Aa! Megami-sama doesn't even transliterate as "Ah! My Goddess"; that would be Aa! Watashi no Megami-sama. The only possible explanation I can think of is that either
these people don't understand the difference between translation and transliteration, or
they want to piss off those of us who do.
Sorry about that. Just had to get it off my chest.
