It's interesting, when writing long posts like this one, to consider whether to court the people who skip long uncut posts or the people who don't read posts behind cut tags.
Also, a bonus Things About Me. Only ten this time. Non-worksafe language.
101. There are certain derogatory words, most of which are used almost exclusively to refer to women, which invoke an immediate and almost instinctual loathing in me. Among them are "whore", "slut", and "cunt". Note that it isn't the subject matter that bothers me; it's the words themselves, and the fact that someone has used them to refer to somebody else.
102. I often take double doses of non-prescription medicine, because I don't perceive single doses as working. I'm not sure why this is. It hasn't hurt me yet.
103. I find the concept of taking "recreational" drugs - including "harmless" drugs like marijuana - so thoroughly anathematic that I will not only unilaterally refuse offers to use them but will leave a venue if I find out that their use is occurring. I do not include tobacco and alcohol in this distaste, although I only drink occasionally and have only ever used tobacco once. I don't ever intend to use it again.
104. I haven't done the "post your name and I'll give you my honest opinion" meme primarily because there are some things I'm not entirely comfortable talking about at the moment, and I'd feel compelled to talk about them if asked.
105. I got more work done yesterday in 75 minutes than I did in the entire time I was offline last week.
106. When someone asks what my favorite season is, I tend to say "winter" and "autumn" with about equal frequency. I can't decide which I like more, and which season I pick depends mostly on what mood I'm in that day.
107. I think that defining love as a thing, that can be given and that has to be taken back, is absurd. Love is.
108. The fear of losing the people I love, to death or otherwise, keeps me awake some nights.
109. I have an irrational love of Christmas music, and have no objection to playing it year-round.
110. I think that the proper response to "Where do you get your ideas?" is "It's a kind of magic.".

Date: 2004-09-10 11:21 am (UTC)106 - I have real troubles picking a favorite season. What season is it? Right, summer. Summer's my favorite season. Ask again in a month or two, I'll answer Fall. Ask after Christmas and I'll say winter...
109 - Until my computer died *grr* I had several CDs worth of Christmas music included on my playlist. One of the nice things about Christmas music is that it's unyieldingly optimistic. I don't, however, know if that's why I like it. Simply an observation.
