I personally believe that money is evil not simply because of the greed inherent, but also the difficulties it causes; e.g. when friendships get strained on account of money being loaned that continually cannot be paid back due to additional unforeseen financial hardships, and the subtle way it can cause some people to de-emphasize the hard work and effort that it is originally intended to represent.
