I've never actually read any of these "refinancing" spam messages, but this one caught my eye.

Subject: RICHMOND IN Loans for ANTHONY CHRIS

Hi - I'm Adeline Drenan with the IN RICHMOND branch of http://414e54484f4348404541524c48414d2e454455.box21.8111th.com and I'd like to see if I can help you get a much lower paymnt when you Refi with us! intelligently try us out for free and see what we can do with your property at 801 NATIONAL RD W. Otherwise, you can be removed from our entire db by using that same link, or by writing to us at 1994 1st St. A110 Moline IL 61265.

Initially I only noticed the bizarrely long web address, but then I actually read the email and saw the street address of the property they want me to "Refi". Sure, I'll be happy to refinance Earlham College; I also have some oceanfront property in New Mexico on which I think I might be paying too much interest...

(Not to mention I haven't received mail at that address in three and a half years.)

I got one of those when I lived in the dorms. I liked the idea of refinancing the University of Washington; the land alone is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, let alone the buildings on it. :D

I suppose they wouldn't be pleased with me if I mortgaged their campus, though.
