Dammit, dammit, dammit.
First last night's TypePad debacle, now my iBook suffers another massive hardware failure. This time it's the lid hinge that's failed. I can tell this because I get no video to the screen, the Apple logo on the back of the lid doesn't light up when I turn the machine on, and when I close the lid, the computer doesn't start sleeping.
Dammit.
Changing the brightness level does not help. Powering down and back up does not help. Closing and opening the lid repeatedly does not help. Resetting the PMU does not help. Removing the power and the battery, waiting a full minute, and replacing both does not help.
It is booting up. I know this because, through judicious blind-use of the trackpad, I can get iTunes to come up and start playing music.
But I can't see it.
Dammit.
