Okay, weird introspective question time.

Before I ask the question, I want to assure everybody that this is done out of honest curiosity. I'm not looking for affirmation or a self-esteem boost here: I really want to know the answer to the question, and if you reply with "I have no freakin' clue" and de-friend me, I won't get upset.
