Awake!

Slept like a rock last night. Fell asleep around 12:30 and woke up only twice: once at 6:30, and once at about 10:30. The second time, I was Awake - I wasn't going back to sleep, and I knew it. Strangely, I didn't have any Prince of Persia dreams. (Equally strangely, my dreams involved people dying in strange ways. The first that I remember involved a reality TV show where the "losers" were killed in bizarre ways - being locked inside a car that was about to be demolished, having most of their body dissolved in acid so quickly that the brain didn't register it for a few minutes, etc. - and the second involved a poison that caused paranoia and extreme tendencies to violence and cannibalism in its victims before it killed them an hour or so later, and which was being distributed via mass-produced packages of soybeans.)

In a somewhat remarkable turn of events, I have no plans or expectations for today. I'm just going to go with the flow and see what happens. Right now, I think some more Prince of Persia is going to happen.

Just finished Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. My final time was somewhere around 10h30m - the last save is at 10h11m, and there's 10-20 minutes of game left at that point - although I didn't collect nearly everything there was to collect. (Notably, I didn't unlock the original Prince of Persia.)

Spoilers ensue )

Now I need to look for a soundtrack to this game, because man, that was a good soundtrack.

(As an aside, I actually do have an MP3 of "I Am The Wind". Go figure.)

(Although it's apparently only a partial. Hm.)

  • Apparently there is no commercially-available soundtrack to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. However, the composers apparently have released the full soundtrack as a 64-meg download. I am currently feverishly refreshing GMail every minute or so (I run Windows ME, so I don't have an auto-checker) to see if they've sent me my registration authentication yet so I can download the thing.

  • As a result of this, I've been listening to video game music for just about three hours straight.

  • There is, as I have just said elsewhere, a part of me that is urging the rest of me to write Prince of Persia fanfic. I am violently suppressing this small, chattery part.

  • Based on my diet recently, and the "you are what you eat" adage, I fully expect to become a potato any day now.

  • In the winter of 1998-1999, my family and I went to Spain for two weeks. It was a great experience - but I want to go again, and do things that I want to do this time.

  • It. Won't. Shut. Up.

The game plan tomorrow:

  • At noon: hit the gym.

  • At 1 or 1:30, hit the library. (Earliest I can go is 1; it usually takes me an hour to an hour and a half to do all the stuff I do in the gym, but it's less than two miles from the gym to the library..)

  • After the library, hit Borders. This one is optional, and depends a lot on whether or not there's a game tomorrow afternoon. If there is, I might skip this step. If not, I'll probably sit in Borders for a few hours and look wistfully at the expensive coffee.

  • If there is a game, repeat to self: "I will not play video games during a roleplaying game I'm supposed to be participating in."

Yep.
