I
was planning on having a supremely late night tonight - I got up at 4:30 Thursday morning, and wasn't going to bed until at least 8:30 Friday morning, and more like noon - but I just discovered that the huge, unwieldy database that I've been using, plus all of my documentation, plus all of my do-files (logs of commands sent to Stata), plus all of my tables, can be fit into a 47-meg .zip file.
Which means I can put this gigabyte and a half of data onto a zip disk and take it home with me. Which means I can go home and go to bed instead of staying here and working until 8 AM, and get the work done in the late morning and early afternoon when I'm actually awake.
w00t.
Something I forgot to mention about Otakon, which I inexplicably remembered in the car on the way back from
telerib's house, was that the Bandai booth had the
Evanescence album on constant repeat. There wasn't a single time I went by that booth when I didn't hear
Evanescence playing. That struck me as very odd.
I took the two hours between the completion of my work day and the time I had to leave for
telerib's house to watch the first disc of
Mahoromatic. Although there are a startling number of breast gags (including the rivalry between two of the main characters), and a somewhat off-putting amount of female nudity, I think the series has promise, and I look forward to the rest of it.
