Yesterday was pretty much spent at
telerib's house for a toga party. (Roommate and his girlfriend also attended, he in a toga, she in a nice, understated dress. I wore a nametag that read "I'm not a toga, but I play one on TV". I hate togas. Eight and a half years of studying Latin and Roman culture... *shudder*) The party was a lot of fun, even if I didn't get to meet two people I'd anticipated meeting (Moe's "mundane" friend from work, and
chadu, whom Moe had said would be coming); I did get to see Cathy, whom I haven't really seen since December, and spent about two hours talking with her. I also met
telerib's sister Taryn, who is a charming young woman about whom I know almost nothing but who really made an excellent first impression, at least upon me.
There were also, in no particular order, a bonfire, which was suggested, lit, admired, and then generally ignored save for a few belated yearnings for marshmallows; lesbian gladiator porn, which I will be more than happy to never again see more than the glimpse I got between returning with Cathy from our first hour of walking and talking and dragging her (well, we more or less dragged each other) back outside for another (often-interrupted) hour; Eric being much more drunk than he should have been; Roommate's girlfriend being much more drunk than she should have been; and me remembering belatedly that I'm not supposed to take alcohol with the antidepressants.
Anyway.
Today, I think I'll relax. And watch Carrie, which I've never seen. This is the second time I've had it rented, and it's due back at the rental place today, so I feel as though I really ought to get it watched.
And that's all the news I have.
