Note to other drivers
Jan. 7th, 2003 09:50 amWhen every other car on the road isn't in one of the traffic lanes, there's probably a really good reason for that. Further, that good reason is not that you might get into that lane and go faster.
Still further, honking your horn and flashing your lights at the parked car in the lane, which was the reason we all weren't using that lane, isn't going to make it go anywhere.

Memo to self:
Jan. 7th, 2003 11:58 amPick up Dave on the way home.
Dave arrived safely last night (although considerably later than expected). I showed him around town, we had a massively satisfying dinner at IHOP, and then went to sleep.
Today is his first day of work.
He has no idea how to get around Baltimore, no way to get home (he's working for my father, who drove him in today and promptly flew to Miami, leaving the car at the airport), and only the vaguest notion of whom he's working with, so he's not going to be able to bring himself to ask for a ride home. (The thing is, any and all of them would; they're all genuinely nice people. But he wouldn't ask them without knowing them better, and if they ask, he'll say he's okay.)
So I need to pick him up.
