Figures.

I got up all early, even - only hit Snooze once - so that I could get to work early, leave early, and have plenty of time to clean up and get ready before Alex and his mother arrive tonight. (At midnight. I shall have to have Words with that woman, or whomever booked the plane tickets.)

I turned on the shower.

Nothing happened.

I turned on the faucets.

Nothing happened.

I ran around the house turning on faucets.

Nothing continued to happen.

Frozen pipes.

Dammit.

I can't go in to work unwashed, and the only other place with a shower that I know of doesn't open until 6.

Dammit.

At least I got some cleaning done in the meantime. And now I'm off to the gym, where I'm paying for the use of the facilities, and the shower is a facility, right? (I've done this before, when we lost power over the summer, and nobody cared, so I'm hardly worried that they'll complain.)

So. Late home from work today, unless I get things done remarkably quickly.
